HIRE OR BUILD

Start with the closest fit, not the most agents.

Hire a pre-built employee

The role already matches your recurring job. Configure your knowledge, fields, system permissions and contact rules, then evaluate it against your actual cases.

  • A clear owner for a defined responsibility.
  • Role-specific workflow and exception boundaries.
  • A starting brief for implementation, not a blanket launch-time promise.
Explore the roles

Build a custom workforce

Your process spans different responsibilities, unusual tools or a job not covered by the directory. Design the roles and their handoffs around the outcome.

  • Define your own triggers and completion evidence.
  • Separate responsibilities where that improves ownership.
  • Combine existing roles with custom work when appropriate.
Explore the custom path

WHAT YOU CONFIGURE

The role is pre-built. The operating context is yours.

Your knowledge

Approved answers, process documents and current policies give the employee a reliable reference. Define how changes are reviewed and what to do when information is missing.

Your systems

Map the source records and permitted actions. A CRM update, calendar booking and refund request have different permissions and different evidence of completion.

Your authority

Agree routine actions, contact preferences and exception owners. Autonomy removes repetitive supervision; it does not remove accountability or grant unrestricted access.

FROM ROLE TO PRODUCTION

Pre-built does not mean unconfigured.

Give the employee the context and authority to do the job. Review the evidence before expanding its responsibility.

01

Define the job

Choose eligible cases, required inputs and a verifiable outcome. Name the owner for exceptions and agree which actions never run automatically.

Approved role brief
02

Connect the context

Map approved knowledge and source records. Give each employee only the read and write permissions its role needs.

Knowledge and access map
03

Test the whole journey

Exercise normal work, missing data and failed system actions. Verify the final record, not just a convincing conversation.

Reviewed acceptance tests
04

Release with ownership

Start with a limited cohort, named monitoring owners and stop conditions. Review outcomes and retest workflow changes.

BEFORE YOU START

Questions worth answering.

What is a pre-built AI employee?

A pre-built employee starts with a defined job rather than a blank agent. The role has responsibilities, an expected outcome and clear limits on its authority. Your knowledge, system permissions, contact rules and exception owners make that role operational in your business. Pre-built does not mean every integration or policy is already configured.

Do the employees work autonomously?

Yes. Within the scope you configure, employees execute routine work, update connected records and manage follow-ups without approval at every step. They hand over exceptions, ambiguous outcomes and decisions outside their authority. Autonomy does not give an employee unrestricted system access or permission to make regulated decisions.

How should I choose the first employee?

Start with a recurring job that has a measurable completion state, usable source data and an accountable business owner. Compare the employee’s responsibilities and handoff boundaries with your current process. A sales qualification role and a policy-sales role can share techniques while requiring very different knowledge and authority.

Can we change a pre-built employee’s workflow?

Configure the approved knowledge, required fields, eligible cases, follow-up rules, system actions and escalation destinations around the role. When the job substantially changes or spans several distinct responsibilities, scope a custom workforce instead of stretching a single employee into unrelated work.

Can multiple employees share a customer journey?

A workforce can be designed around shared records and explicit event-based handoffs. Specify which employee owns each stage, what event starts the next stage and what information travels with it. A meeting booking is not proof of a sale, and a policy payment is not proof of issuance. Confirm those events in their source systems.

Which systems and channels can an employee use?

Start with the required categories: CRM, calendars, policy or lending systems, commerce, billing, helpdesk and document storage. Voice, chat, workflows and video agents are capabilities to scope for the role, not a claim that every employee has every channel enabled. Confirm vendors, APIs and exact read/write operations before rollout.

How long does hiring and deployment take?

The schedule depends on process clarity, knowledge readiness, access to test systems, security review and acceptance testing. Agree milestones after reviewing those dependencies. A pre-built role helps define the starting scope; it does not remove implementation work or justify a universal launch-time promise.

How do we know an employee is performing well?

Measure verified business outcomes alongside action correctness and exception quality. Examples include correctly booked meetings, intake records with required fields, accurate order updates and unwanted follow-ups avoided. Compare an eligible pilot cohort with your baseline; do not treat another role’s testimonial as evidence for your own workflow.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Start with one employee. Give the role a real outcome.

Choose a responsibility your team repeats every day. Review the employee’s scope, connect the right systems and agree how you will measure the result.
